CPAWS Manitoba’s
Ocean Soundscapes Event
80 per cent of Manitoban’s think Manitoba is landlocked.
That’s quite a big number. That’s why when CPAWS Manitoba asked me to create the materials for their Ocean Week event, I knew my objective wasn’t just to get people to register, I also had to raise awareness of Manitoba’s coast for people not attending the event.
One of the first things I did create a strategy guide and creative brief. Out of my brief came the main theme of the campaign: Make Manitoba’s Coast Clear.

The Teaser
To announce the event, we rolled out invitations in stages.
First, we had some VIPs to invite before inviting the general public. To create interest, I created a video which had from Rob Knaggs, the musician who was playing at our event. The video was posted on CPAWS Manitoba’s social media accounts.
The video quickly became one of the most viewed posts on CPAWS Manitoba’s Instagram.
When we released tickets for the event to the public, we were at half capacity within the first 24 hours.
Making the Coast Clear to the Public.
To create an association between Manitobans and the ocean. I created a series of social media posts that are scheduled to be posted during Ocean Week. Here are some of the videos that help show Manitoba’s connection to the ocean.
